How this log is protected

  • Append only. Update and delete are revoked from every application role, including this console's.
  • Hash chained. Each row carries the hash of the one before it, so a deletion is detectable even with database access.
  • Mirrored hourly to an S3 bucket in Object Lock compliance mode, where nobody, including us, can delete it before seven years.
  • Attributed to a person. An action taken while impersonating a shop is recorded against the real admin, never the shop's user.
  • Reasons are required on anything that changes money, access, or a plan.
